Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Mokpo Marine Cable Car is in spring and autumn, when the weather is relatively stable and getting around is easy. Avoiding the very hot or very cold seasons will let you enjoy the roughly 40-minute round trip more comfortably.
Within the day, late morning to early afternoon is the most practical time. Operating hours are usually Sun-Thu 09:00-19:00 and Fri-Sat 09:00-20:00, so it is better to visit with some time to spare rather than right before closing.
To reduce crowding, weekday visits are recommended. In particular, Tuesday to Thursday tend to be relatively quiet, while weekends and public holidays can get busier. Friday evenings and Saturdays are likely to be the most crowded.
In short, weekday mornings to early afternoons in spring and autumn are the most comfortable times to visit.
How Long to Stay
If you want a quick visit, about 1 hour is enough for a round-trip ride and photos. In general, it is good to allow 1 to 2 hours including waiting time and enjoying the surrounding views, and if you plan to also explore nearby attractions such as Yudalsan or Gohado, a half-day is recommended.

Mokpo does not have a subway. If you arrive by train, the most convenient option is to get off at Mokpo Station and transfer to a bus.
By Bus
From Mokpo Station: Take Branch Bus No. 1 and get off at the Mokpo Marine Cable Car stop, then walk about 6 minutes.
Alternatively, take Local Bus No. 2-2 and get off at the Seobu Elementary School stop, then walk about 6 minutes.
From Mokpo Bus Terminal: You can take buses No. 1, 3, 13, and 15. Among them, No. 3 and No. 15 are relatively convenient because the walk is shorter.

Photo Spots
- Skywalk net-floor section: The section with a net floor is the most thrilling photo spot. Hold your camera low so that the sea below and your feet appear together. Facing the sea head-on creates a stronger sense of depth. The recommended time is around sunset, when the golden light reflects on the sea and looks most impressive.
- Transparent-floor section: This is a great place to capture the feeling of standing above a transparent sea path. Take photos while looking down toward the sea beneath you, or have your companion shoot a full-body shot from slightly behind. During the daytime, the sea color is vivid, and at sunset you can get a more atmospheric tone.
- “Stand and shoot” spot near the Skywalk bench: Instead of sitting, stand and face the sea to include a wider background. Including the railing and the sea together emphasizes the height. From around sunset to just before nightfall is the best time.
- View toward the Dadohae Sea from the cable car: Inside the cable car, sit by the window and shoot while looking toward the Dadohae Sea. Islands and the sea can be captured in one frame. At sunset, the golden glow is beautiful; after dark, it is good for night-view photos.
- Around the Skywalk view cafe: Taking photos from the nearby large cafe toward the sea outside the window lets you easily capture scenic shots. Window seats or outdoor seats are better than indoor seats. The sunset period is the most popular.
Night View
The greatest charm of the night view from Mokpo Marine Cable Car is the combination of city lights, the sea, and bridges all in one scene. From the Yudalsan side, you can see the colorful downtown nightscape with blue and yellow lights at a glance, and you can also enjoy the illuminated Mokpo Bridge.
The atmosphere is much more romantic and calmer than during the day, and it is a great place to enjoy scenery where Mokpo's mountains, islands, and harbor lights blend together as you pass over the sea. On clear days, it is especially recommended to ride from around sunset so you can see both the sunset and the night view.
The recommended time is from just after sunset to the early part of the night. Right after sunset, the sky still has some color left, so photos come out well, and once it is completely dark, the lights appear more clearly.
At night, many people visit to see Mokpo Dancing Sea Fountain, known as a Korean tourism Guinness record, together with the night view of Mokpo Bridge. If possible, riding once during the day and once at night lets you experience both different moods.
