Discovering Sunshine Studio at 90 Bonghwang-ro, Yeonmu-eup

Sunshine Studio is a drama and film shooting set located at 90 Bonghwang-ro, Yeonmu-eup, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Sunshine Land, as introduced by Nonsan City, is a complex cultural space that operates a Military Experience Center, a survival experience area, and drama and film sets together. The official address of Sunshine Land is listed separately as 102 Bonghwang-ro, Yeonmu-eup, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do.

The Sunshine Land site was introduced in 2018 materials as covering 62,573㎡. Therefore, rather than looking only for Sunshine Studio on a map, visitors from outside the area should also check the entire Sunshine Land area and the location of Parking Lot 2.

1950 Studio, Recreating the Mid-1950s

Sunshine Land’s 1950 Studio was created against the backdrop of the mid-1950s, after the Korean War had ended. It is arranged to show people rebuilding their daily lives in spaces where traces of the war remain, making it closer to a place for exploring everyday history than merely a filming backdrop.

The set recreates a gukbap restaurant that offered comfort to ordinary villagers, a theater crowded with people on days when new films were shown, and banners bearing anti-communist slogans. Admission to 1950 Studio is free, but entry may be restricted when filming is in progress.

Scenes from the Opening of the Modern Era on Hanseong Electric and Jongno Streets

The streets at Sunshine Studio have been recreated in the form of a modern history and culture district. Travel reviews introduce Hanseong Electric, the country’s first electric company building, a dry-goods store, a courtyard house storeroom, Bosingak, and shops along Jongno Street of that period as major photo spots.

This area was constructed for drama and film shoots, so it is not an actual residential area where visitors can freely explore the interiors of every building. Travel reviews from 2026 state that most buildings are focused on their exteriors and that access to the interiors is limited, so visitors should not assume that a visible door means they may enter.

Open from 10:00 to 18:00; Closed on Wednesdays

The official operating hours are 10:00–18:00, and the regular closing day is every Wednesday. The site may also close for facility maintenance, so avoid Wednesdays and arrive during operating hours. The official notice states that ticket sales for the Military Experience Center end at 17:30.

From 12:00 to 13:00, only the sets can be viewed during the lunch break. Sunshine Studio’s admission fee is listed in the official fee information as an inquiry item at 1811-7057, and payment is available only on site. A 2023 travel review lists the prices as 10,000 won for adults, 8,000 won for teenagers, and 6,000 won for seniors and children, but these are not amounts listed on the latest official page, so the two sources should be distinguished.

Period Costumes Available in Two-Hour Rental Periods

Sunshine Studio has a rental shop for costumes from the opening of the modern era. A 2023 travel review lists the adult-only costume rental for two hours at 25,000 won, costumes with two accessories at 32,000 won, and costumes with three accessories at 35,000 won.

The same review says that the costume rental shop is at the far right after exiting the hotel. Since the rental fees are based on 2023 materials, do not treat them as current prices; instead, call Sunshine Studio at 1811-7057 to confirm the admission fee and rental fees together.

Traveling by Bus 216 After Arriving at Nonsan Station from Seoul

From Seoul, express buses to Nonsan are available from Central City Terminal. Information written in February 2023 states that there were 12 services per day from 06:30 to 22:45, taking about 2 hours and 10 minutes. KTX trains from Yongsan Station to Nonsan Station were listed as running 8–10 times per day from 06:12 to 21:11, taking about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

One recommended route is to take Bus 216 from the Nonsan Station stop or the Ogeori stop near Nonsan Bus Terminal, then get off at the Hwanghwa 4-ri stop. Sunshine Land is approximately 360 m on foot from the bus stop. Since no up-to-date information on Bus 216’s current intervals and operating hours has been confirmed, visitors should allow for the possibility of a long wait.

Free Parking Is Divided Between Parking Lots 1 and 2

Parking at Sunshine Land is free. Parking Lot 1 is located at the main entrance of the Military Experience Center, while Parking Lot 2 is in front of the Sunshine Studio ticket office. If you are visiting Sunshine Studio directly, the official guidance indicates that Parking Lot 2 is the more convenient location.

The number of parking spaces and the number available specifically for Sunshine Studio have not been confirmed. The official address is 102 Bonghwang-ro, while the studio address provided by the user is 90 Bonghwang-ro. Since they differ, it is better to enter Sunshine Studio or Sunshine Land separately as the destination in your vehicle navigation system.

Allow More Than an Hour and Include Filming Restrictions in Your Schedule

A 2023 travel review says that the grounds are quite large and that a leisurely visit can easily take more than an hour. A schedule that quickly covers only Sunshine Studio for photos requires a different amount of time from one that also includes 1950 Studio, so allowing at least one hour as a baseline is realistic.

Entry to 1950 Studio may be restricted when filming is underway, and the official page does not specify whether photography is prohibited at Sunshine Studio or what control standards apply to each area. Notices also state that visitors may not arbitrarily damage or move facilities or disturb other visitors, and that the site is not responsible for lost personal belongings.

Restrictions to Know in Advance Regarding Pets and Accessibility

Pets are not allowed to enter. However, guide dogs for people with disabilities may enter in accordance with Article 40, Paragraph 3 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities. Official materials do not provide confirmed information about entrances, interior routes, slopes, or stairs for wheelchair and stroller users.

It has also not been confirmed whether English-language information or audio guides are available. Foreign visitors should check the official website in advance. For the clearest information about admission fees and area restrictions caused by filming, contact Sunshine Studio at 1811-7057. The inquiry number for the Military Experience Center and 1950 Studio is 041-730-2954, and the main Sunshine Land number is 041-730-2955.

Combine It into a Day Route with the Nonsan City Tour from May

The main Sunshine Land route of the Nonsan City Tour is listed as operating from May. The route departs from Nonsan Station, passes Nonsan Citizens’ Stadium and modern history streets, Ganggyeong Gurakbu, Ongnyeobong, and the Salt Literature Museum in Ganggyeong, then passes Sunshine Land and Tapjeong Lake before returning to Nonsan Station.

Therefore, instead of staying in Nonsan only to visit Sunshine Studio, you can include Ganggyeong’s modern history street and Sunshine Land in one itinerary. However, the actual operating dates, reservation availability, and fares for 2026 have not been separately confirmed, so it is safer to prepare the Nonsan Station and Bus 216 route as your basic plan rather than relying on the city tour as your transportation.
