Best Time to Visit
Geumgang Pedestrian Bridge is best visited in spring and autumn. The weather is relatively mild and comfortable for walking, making it easy for international travelers as well.
Within the day, early morning through late morning is the most pleasant. Operating hours are 06:00~23:00, and although walking is possible after 23:00 late at night, the streetlights are turned off, so it is effectively safer and more convenient to visit before sunset or in the early evening.
Weekdays are the most recommended. Overall, it is less crowded than on weekends, so you can walk at a relaxed pace. On weekends, visitor and vehicle traffic increases and parking can become congested, so if you must go on a weekend, it is better to arrive early in the morning.
On rainy or windy days, the upper facilities may be restricted, so it is better to choose a clear day with light wind. Parking lots are available at both the south and north entrances.
How Long to Stay
If you are just making a quick round of Geumgang Pedestrian Bridge, 30 to 40 minutes is enough. Photo Spots
- Near the marina 200 m east: This is the best spot to capture the entire circular shape of Geumgang Pedestrian Bridge in one frame. Move about 200 m east toward the riverside from the pedestrian bridge. It is good to shoot with the bridge facing west so that the entire structure fits in the frame. The best time is from around sunset through nighttime, and it is especially beautiful after the lights come on.
- Viewpoint on the bridge: On the bridge, it is great to photograph the river and city scenery together. However, it is hard to capture the full circular structure in one shot, so this spot is more suitable for portraits or partial compositions. Use the background broadly by shooting toward the river or toward the city. The sunset period has the best atmosphere.
- Night lighting point: If you visit when the colorful lights around the bridge are on, you can take vibrant photos. From the riverside promenade, shoot toward the pedestrian bridge to include both the lights and the waterside atmosphere. A visit after it is completely dark is recommended.
Night View
Geumgang Pedestrian Bridge (Ieung Bridge) is one of Sejong's signature night-view spots. After sunset, when the bridge lights come on, the river and city scenery blend together, creating a pleasant atmosphere for an evening stroll. The illuminated circular pedestrian bridge is also popular as a photography spot.
The atmosphere is relatively calm and safe, and it is nice to walk slowly while feeling the river breeze. Especially on cool evenings, it is a popular nighttime walking course for locals.
The recommended time is from just after sunset until around 10 p.m. Since it usually operates from after sunset until 23:00, it is best not to visit too late.
Sejong City also operates a night culture and tourism program called Sejong Night Stroll, and it is a great way to enjoy the night views around Geumgang Pedestrian Bridge and Sejong Lake Park together. Checking in advance whether there are seasonal night events will help you make the most of your visit.
