Sejong Central Park is open every day from 05:00 to 23:00 year-round, so visiting hours are relatively flexible. The most pleasant period is from late spring to early autumn, when outdoor walks are comfortable.
The most recommended time of day is early morning. On weekends, the park can get crowded, so if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, it is better to go in the morning. Evenings are also possible, but there are generally more people then.
By day of the week, weekdays are the most convenient. Weekends tend to be busier with many family visitors, so if you want a more relaxed visit, we recommend going between Monday and Friday.
In short, the best time to visit Sejong Central Park is on a weekday morning, and if you go on a weekend, it is best to arrive as early as possible.
How Long to Stay
If you explore Sejong Central Park quickly, 45 minutes to 1 hour is enough. If you want to take your time along the walking paths and around the pond and evening lighting, about 1.5 to 2 hours is appropriate. If you plan to also visit nearby attractions such as the music fountain, Sejong Lake Park, or the National Sejong Arboretum, it is best to set aside half a day (3 to 5 hours).

Photo Spots
- King Sejong Theme Photo Zone: This is the park’s signature photo spot. If you stand directly facing the camera or slightly at an angle with the King Sejong statue or themed facilities in the background, both the subject and the scenery will look great. Lighting is stable from late morning to early afternoon.
- Around the Greenhouse: The combination of plants and glass structures makes for clean, polished photos. It is good to shoot facing the greenhouse entrance or standing diagonally so the side is visible. Morning brings a bright, fresh mood, while around sunset offers softer tones.
- Sejongri Cafe 1st Floor Lobby “Winter Light Tree Photo Zone”: An indoor photo spot in Sejong Central Park, suitable for winter-season photos. For the cleanest composition, place the tree directly in front and position the subject in the center. A visit in the late afternoon to evening is recommended when the lights are on.
- Art Installation Areas: Using the installations throughout the park allows you to take a variety of walking photos. It feels natural to place the installation in the center of the background or have the subject stand beside it and shoot from the side. In the afternoon, the shadows are softer, making photography easier.
- Wide Open Lawn: With unobstructed views, it is great for landscape photos and full-body shots. Shooting with the open lawn behind you or toward the inside of the park adds a strong sense of space. The warm light around sunset is best.
Night View
The night view of Sejong Central Park is defined by its lighting, which operates from sunset until 23:00. After dark, lights come on around the lake and on the floating stage island, and the reflections on the water blend with the lights of downtown Sejong City to create a wide, refreshing panoramic nightscape.
In particular, the illuminated floating stage island is the most eye-catching point at night. Thanks to its colorful lighting, it is easy to spot from anywhere in the park and makes a great photo location. If you also enjoy the night view of the nearby Ieung Bridge, the experience becomes even more satisfying.
The recommended time is from just after sunset until around 21:00. This is when the remaining glow in the sky and the nighttime lights are visible together, creating the most atmospheric setting, ideal for walking and taking photos. The lights stay on later into the night, but if you go too late, the area may become quiet.
During the year-end and New Year period, the Sejong Light Festival is held around Ieung Bridge, and nighttime events such as the Sejong Falling Flower Festival are also held at Sejong Lake Park and Sejong Central Park. If you check the event schedule before visiting, you can enjoy a more special night view.
Seasonal Guide
Sejong Central Park has a distinct atmosphere in each season, making it worth visiting all year round.
Spring: Flower-path walks are the most popular activity of the season. Spring blossoms, including cherry blossoms, bloom along the park’s walking paths, making it great for photography and a light picnic.
Summer: The forest paths are relatively cool, and water-play facilities are also operated. Summer Pond, Cloud Pond, the Music Fountain, water basins, and cooling fog are generally open from the third Saturday of May to the second Sunday of October. On weekdays, they operate twice a day at 12:00 and 18:00, so if you time your visit accordingly, you can enjoy the park even more.
Autumn: With autumn foliage and pink muhly grass blending together, this is the most colorful season. The cool weather also makes it ideal for long walks or biking.
Winter: Snow-covered park scenery and the greenhouse backdrop are especially memorable. It is a good season to enjoy winter lighting and a calm atmosphere, but the wind can be cold, so warm clothing is recommended.
Travel Tip: Spring and autumn are the best seasons for photos and walking, while in summer it is efficient to visit after checking the fountain operating hours. In winter, the sun sets early, so visiting around sunset will let you enjoy an atmospheric view.
