An Automobile Production and Test-Drive Experience at Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang, at Exit 1 of Kintex Station

Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang is a Hyundai Motor mobility culture space where exhibition viewing, reservation-based interactive exhibitions, test-drive programs, dining, and shopping all come together in one building. It is accessible via Exit 1 of GTX-A Kintex Station, and since the operating hours, reservation conditions, and fees for the interactive exhibitions and test drives differ, it is best to decide your visit purpose first.

Why an automotive culture space was created in the KINTEX exhibition district

Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang is located at 217-6 Kintex-ro, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is a mobility culture space introduced by Hyundai Motor as a “new journey to see, hear, and feel cars.” The Janghang and Daehwa area around KINTEX draws large numbers of exhibition and conference visitors, so this place operates not as a simple sales venue but as a space that ties together vehicle displays, hands-on exhibits, test drives, and food and beverage areas in one flow.

The official floor guide shows ASSEMBLY, URC-2, CONNECT WALL, Cafe by Haevichi, and Sunset Stairs on L to 1F, and AIRBAG, SAFETY, TECHNOLOGY, ACTIVITY, and CONNECTIVITY on B1. Rather than presenting cars only as finished products, it organizes them by themes such as assembly, safety, technology, and connectivity, making it easy to decide what you want to see even if you are not planning to buy a car.

Within 09:00~20:00, the hours for the hands-on exhibit and food and beverage spaces differ

The building's basic operating hours are 09:00~20:00, and it is closed every Monday, on New Year's Day, and on the day of and the day after Lunar New Year and Chuseok. The customer center operates from 09:00~18:00, but it is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, so it is safer to call 1899-6611 (ARS option 1) on a weekday for reservation changes or detailed inquiries.

The hands-on exhibit operates on weekdays from 10:00~18:20, and on weekends, public holidays, and during the peak season from July 25 to August 17, from 10:00~19:00. The permanent exhibition and 4D Ride require advance reservations, and on-site ticketing closes 15 minutes before the start. Kitchen by Haevichi is open from 11:00~21:00, Cafe by Haevichi from 09:00~19:00, CafeM by Haevichi from 10:00~18:00, and the shop from 09:00~20:00.

How to choose between the 10,000 won permanent exhibition and the 7,000 won 4D Ride

Individual admission prices for the hands-on exhibit permanent exhibition are 10,000 won for adults (ages 19 to 64), 7,000 won for teenagers (middle school to high school students), 5,000 won for children (36 months to elementary school students), and 5,000 won for seniors (65 and older). Group rates are 7,000 won for adults, 5,000 won for teenagers, and 3,000 won for children and seniors, and proof is required for the senior discount.

4D Ride costs 7,000 won for adults, 6,000 won for teenagers, and 4,000 won for children. The combined ticket for the permanent exhibition and 4D Ride is priced at 16,000 won for adults, 12,000 won for teenagers, and 8,000 won for children. If you plan to see only the exhibition, reserve the permanent exhibition; if you want an experience that includes video- and motion-based features, the combined ticket is the clearer choice.

The permanent exhibition and 4D Ride reservation flow requires arrival 30 minutes early

Advance reservations are required for both the permanent exhibition and 4D Ride, and ticketing for both programs closes 15 minutes before the start time. Therefore, even if you are traveling from KINTEX Station, it is better to plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your reservation time. If you arrive right before entry, you may miss the ticketing cutoff, and if you plan to eat or visit a cafe after the exhibition, each venue's closing time also applies separately.

The recommended stay is 2 to 3 hours depending on how you visit. If you reserved only the permanent exhibition, you can add Cafe by Haevichi and CONNECT WALL on L to 1F after viewing the exhibition, and if you include 4D Ride, you should also account for waiting time between reservation slots. Certain exhibitions and kids' workshops change frequently, so you should check the official reservation page again before departure for the daily lineup.

  • Hands-on exhibit weekdays: 10:00~18:20
  • Hands-on exhibit weekends, public holidays, and July 25 to August 17: 10:00~19:00
  • Permanent exhibition and 4D Ride: advance reservation required, ticketing closes 15 minutes before start

Tuesday to Sunday 10:00~17:00: conditions for the 30-minute, 15 km Basic Drive

Vehicle test drives require advance reservations and are not operated on Mondays. Basic Drive Untact runs Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00~17:00 at 15-minute intervals, with a duration of 30 minutes, a distance of 15 km, and no participation fee. Only the reservation holder may drive, driver changes are not allowed, and you drive without a Guru co-driver by following the route entered into the vehicle's navigation system.

The Guru co-riding Basic Drive operates at the same Tuesday through Sunday hours of 10:00~17:00, every 15 minutes, with a 30-minute, 19.8 km course. Beginner Drive for novice drivers runs Tuesday through Sunday at 17:00 for 40 minutes, on a selected route of 7.5 km, 20.3 km, or 23.3 km, and only the reserving driver may be on board. If your goal is driving, you should first confirm whether test-drive reservations are available separately from the exhibition ticket.

From the 33.1 km Chakok to the 4.6 km Heritage Drive, choose a test drive by purpose

Outdoor Life Chakok is a paid program departing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 10:00 and 13:00, running for 210 minutes over 33.1 km, with a participation fee of 35,000 won. You drive a set course to Gimpo Hangang Auto Camping Site in either a Palisade Hybrid or an IONIQ 9, and travel by any additional companions beyond the four reserved participants to the campsite is not allowed.

Heritage Drive takes place on Saturdays at 15:00 for 20 minutes over 4.6 km, in a taxi-driving format where Guru drives the Grandeur, Scoope, Pony 2, or Galloper. Children under 6 and infants cannot board because child seats cannot be installed, and on hot, humid days, test-driving classic cars may be uncomfortable. To compare two vehicles, the Compare Drive runs on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 for 90 minutes over 44 km and is free, but requires two drivers.

  • Chakok: Fri, Sat, Sun 10:00 and 13:00, 210 minutes, 33.1 km, 35,000 won
  • Heritage: Sat 15:00, 20 minutes, 4.6 km, free
  • Compare: Sat, Sun 10:00, 90 minutes, 44 km, free

GTX-A KINTEX Station Exit 1 and the first 30 minutes of free parking

For public transportation, use Exit 1 of GTX-A KINTEX Station. Since the official guide directly lists the station name and exit, for overseas visitors the simplest method is to set the map app destination to 'Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang' or the road-name address, then check the walking route based on Exit 1. The official site, which provides Korean, English, and Chinese language menus, can also be used to confirm reservations before departure.

For private cars, the first 30 minutes are free, then 1,000 won per 10 minutes, with a daily maximum of 40,000 won. Paid hands-on exhibit customers get 2 hours free, test-drive program users get 2 hours free, and outdoor test drives get 4 hours free. Purchases of 10,000 won or less receive 1 hour free parking; purchases over 10,000 won up to 30,000 won receive 2 hours; over 30,000 won up to 50,000 won receive 3 hours; over 50,000 won up to 100,000 won receive 4 hours; and purchases over 100,000 won receive 5 hours free. Registered vehicles for persons with disabilities receive a 50% parking fee discount.

How to add the 320-person multipurpose hall and Haevichi food and beverage spaces after the exhibition

The third-floor multipurpose hall can accommodate up to about 320 people and operates from 09:00~20:00 as an event facility with adjustable partitions. Rather than assuming it is a space that exhibition visitors can freely use at all times, it is more accurate to understand it as a place where the day's event or rental status should be checked.

Meals are possible at Kitchen by Haevichi from 11:00~21:00, and breaks are possible at Cafe by Haevichi from 09:00~19:00 or CafeM by Haevichi from 10:00~18:00. Blue Members points can cover 20% of the payment at the hands-on exhibit, shop, kitchen, and both cafes, and Hyundai Card M points can cover 10% of the payment at the kitchen and both cafes. If you are combining cars, exhibits, and meals into one day, it is good to remember that the free parking time, even with combined benefits, is capped at 5 hours.
