The best time to visit Daejeon Expo Science Park is in spring (March to May). The weather is mild, making it easy to move around the park and enjoy a comfortable visit overall. In summer (June to August), it can be hot, but you can still visit relatively comfortably if you also use the indoor facilities.

The most recommended time of day is from 9:30 a.m. to late morning. Hanbit Tower Observatory is usually open from 09:30 to 17:20, so going in the morning means fewer crowds and a more relaxed visit. Visitor numbers may increase a bit in the afternoon.

As for the day of the week, weekdays from Tuesday to Friday are best. Weekends can be relatively crowded, so if you want a quieter visit, weekdays are recommended. It is closed on Mondays, so you should avoid visiting then.

How Long to Stay

If you only cover the essentials, 1 to 1.5 hours is enough for Hanbit Tower Observatory and a walk around the park. How to Get There

Daejeon Expo Science Park is located at 480 Daedeok-daero, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City (Doryong-dong), so it is relatively easy to get to from downtown Daejeon.

• Subway: After using the Daejeon Metro, transferring to a bus or taxi is the most convenient option. For foreign travelers, it is practical to first travel from Daejeon Station toward the city center and then connect by bus or taxi. • Bus: It is convenient to take a bus toward Expo Science Park from downtown Daejeon. Search for Expo Science Park or 480 Daedeok-daero as your destination. Bus routes may change, so it is a good idea to check real-time information on the stop sign or in a map app before boarding.
• Walking: You can approach on foot from bus stops or drop-off points around the park. It is not recommended to walk directly from downtown Daejeon or Daejeon Station because the distance is too great.
• Taxi: Taking a taxi directly from Daejeon Station is the fastest option. The trip takes about 10 minutes, and the fare is about ₩13,000~₩17,000.

• Front Plaza of Hanbit Tower: Take photos in the spacious plaza in front of Hanbit Tower in the center of Expo Science Park. If you position the tower in front and shoot with a slight upward angle, the circular structure of the 93-meter tower stands out well. Recommended direction: Facing the tower from the front. Recommended time: Late afternoon to sunset, or at night when the lights come on.
• Hanbit Tower Observatory Circular Window Photo Zone: The area in front of the round window at Hanbit Tower Observatory is the most famous spot. Use the window as a frame and capture both downtown Daejeon and the park together. Recommended direction: Toward the outside scenery beyond the window, especially the direction where the city and park are broadly visible. Recommended time: On a clear daytime, visibility is good; around sunset, the city lights add atmosphere and make it ideal for moody photos.
• Night View Toward Gapcheon from the Observatory: The side of Hanbit Tower Observatory facing Gapcheon is especially good for night photography. The city lights spread around the river come into view at a glance. Recommended direction: Aim toward Gapcheon and shoot while looking slightly downward. Recommended time: After sunset until night.
• Background Shots of Hanbit Tower from the Park Path: If you step a little farther back inside the park and take a photo with Hanbit Tower in the background, both the tower and the surrounding space are included, creating a more balanced image. Recommended direction: Shoot toward the tower from the center of the park. Recommended time: Bright daytime for clear commemorative photos; in the evening, it is great for capturing a more impressive scene with the lights.

Night View

Daejeon Expo Science Park is one of Daejeon’s representative night-view spots. At night, the Waterlight Plaza and the Hanbit Tower area are illuminated, and the media facade and various light displays make the atmosphere even more dazzling.

In particular, Waterlight Plaza is great for photos thanks to the combination of colorful lighting and gobo lights, and Hanbit Tower features a media facade, letting you see a completely different landscape from daytime. Musical fountains and laser shows may also be operated, making it a pleasant place for a light evening stroll.

The recommended visiting time is after sunset, and if you want to fully enjoy the musical fountain, visiting at night is best. The Hanbit Tower media facade is usually shown at 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
