Lee Yo-won: “Where is the chaebol heir husband?” A lighthearted answer to 20 years of rumors
[Sports Donga Reporter Lee Jeong-yeon] Actress Lee Yo-won playfully brushed off rumors surrounding her husband being a "chaebol second-generation." She showed off her signature witty banter, saying, "I still don't know where this chaebol second-generation husband is."
On the 25th episode of KBS2's "Mr. House Husband Season 2," the daily life of trot singer Park Hyun-ho and his wife Eun Ga-eun, who joined as new members, was revealed.
That day, Park Hyun-ho introduced himself as "the new member of 'Mr. House Husband' and Eun Ga-eun's husband." The two, who met through KBS's "Immortal Songs," shared that they became parents just 10 months after marriage, but also opened up about the countless malicious rumors they had endured.
Park Hyun-ho confessed, "I was told that we would divorce in two to three years, and when I was pregnant, I even heard people say I would miscarry," adding, "I wondered if it was because of me. I also thought that maybe such talk was coming up because I was less known than my wife."
He added, "There were also comments saying I was a chaebol and that we were a show-window couple."
When Park Seo-jin, who was listening, asked, "Are you really a land tycoon?" Park Hyun-ho drew the line and said, "No."
In the process, Lee Yo-won also mentioned the long-standing rumors surrounding herself. She said, "Not everything that appears in the media is true," and joked, "I still don't know where that chaebol second-generation husband is. I wonder if I can meet him in my next life," drawing laughter.
Lee Yo-won married former golfer-turned-businessman Park Jin-woo in 2003 and has one son and two daughters.
The broadcast also continued with Eun Ga-eun's story of quickly resuming activities after giving birth. Eun Ga-eun explained why she returned just six weeks after childbirth, saying, "I wanted to earn even one more won, and I was afraid they might not call me again."
Lee Yo-won, a mother of three, recalled her own experience and said, "After giving birth to my first child, it took about a year to recover. My knees were bad, and I also had postpartum depression," earning sympathy.
Park Hyun-ho said, "Going through malicious comments actually made our relationship stronger. We ended up loving each other more," and Eun Ji-won supported the couple, saying, "You already had a good relationship; it wasn't thanks to the malicious comments."
