Jeongyeon changes dramatically after leaving JYP… A fresh start as “actress Yoo Jeongyeon,” leaving “TWICE” behind

[Sports Chosun reporter Lee Ji-hyun] Jeongyeon of the group TWICE has announced the full-fledged start of her career as “actress Yoo Jeongyeon” by revealing new profile photos with a dramatically different atmosphere following her agency transfer.

Her new agency, Baro Entertainment, released several new photos of Jeongyeon through its official social media accounts on the 11th, drawing attention with images of “Yoo Jeongyeon” that were markedly different from her days as a singer.

In the released photos, Jeongyeon completed a neat yet sophisticated look by wearing a white outfit and jewelry with her hair pulled up neatly. In another photo, she revealed a more mature and chic charm while wearing a black sleeveless turtleneck and gazing beyond the camera.

In particular, her appearance in a white dress with long wavy hair highlighted a soft and pure atmosphere. Moving away from the bright, energetic image she showed through her activities with TWICE, she presented calm expressions and restrained styling, foreshadowing a new transformation.

Earlier, on the 10th, Jeongyeon personally announced that she would leave JYP Entertainment, where she had been since her teenage years. It marks a change 11 years after her debut with TWICE in 2015.

In a handwritten letter, Jeongyeon said, “I am going to leave JYP, where I have spent many years from my teenage days until now, and try to make another new beginning in a new place,” adding, “Leaving a familiar place was frightening, but I was able to find the courage because of the members and ONCE, who believed in me.”

Her new home is Baro Entertainment. It is an actor management agency that represents, among others, her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon, as well as Jin Goo and Byeon Woo-seok. Jeongyeon plans to begin her acting career there under her real name, “Yoo Jeongyeon.”

However, her activities with TWICE will continue. Jeongyeon emphasized, “Although I have moved to a new home and am beginning a new challenge, TWICE, the greatest center of my life, will remain unchanged, just as it is now,” adding, “Standing before ONCE as a member of TWICE will always come first.”

She continued, “I will sincerely prepare, one step at a time, both for my journey as Jeongyeon of TWICE, whom you have loved, and for the new challenges of Yoo Jeongyeon that I will take on in the future.”

Since debuting with TWICE in 2015, Jeongyeon has been loved for numerous hit songs, including “CHEER UP” and “TT,” and has also been active in variety shows and as an MC. After leaving JYP, where she spent 11 years, and establishing a new home at an agency specializing in actors, she has now also unveiled new photos with a significantly different atmosphere, heightening interest in the new side that “actress Yoo Jeongyeon” will show.
