aespa, comeback hand-in-hand with G-DRAGON D-DAY… "Break through the crack on your own"

The girl group aespa is kicking off the prologue to its second full-length album.

aespa will release the pre-release track 'WDA (Whole Different Animal)' from its second full-length album at 6 p.m. on the 11th through various online music sites.

'WDA (Whole Different Animal)' is a hip-hop-based dance track whose grand synth bass and heavy hook create an overwhelming impact, and through lyrics that capture aespa's more solidified growth, it signals a new chapter in its universe. In particular, G-DRAGON, a member of the boy group BIGBANG, took part in the featuring and in writing the rap for his part, completing a powerful synergy with aespa.

The music video features beings who look like aespa in an era where the boundary between reality and the digital world has gradually become blurred, leaving no way to prove what is 'real' anymore, but they are clearly not aespa. It captures aespa breaking through this chaos and collision, ultimately shattering their own cracks (Complaexity) and proving their existence once again.

In particular, since aespa has built a narrative from the very beginning of its debut with a virtual self called ae-aespa as a core pillar of its universe, this music video was designed to naturally confront viewers with the question of 'what is real?' in an environment where the boundaries between original and copy, reality and virtuality, are blurred, through a production that captures the uneasy feeling of an era in which familiar images are endlessly replicated and consumed.

Starting at 5 p.m., one hour before the song's release, aespa will hold a 'WDA countdown live' via YouTube, TikTok, and the aespa channels, talking about the new song and spending time interacting with fans, raising anticipation for the comeback of its second full-length album.

The second full-length album, 'LEMONADE,' will have all tracks released online at 1 p.m. on the 29th and will also be released as a physical album.
