August 29: A 42K Night Starting at APEC Naru Park

2026 Busan Nightwalk 42K with dsec is a two-day, one-night walking event held from August 29 to August 30, 2026, at APEC Naru Park, 85 Suyeonggangbyeon-daero, Haeundae-gu, Busan. According to the official information, operating hours run from 16:00 to 07:00 the following day, making it possible to experience Centum City at sunset and Busan at dawn in one itinerary. This year's courses are 8K, 16K, 24K, and 42K. Starting at APEC Naru Park, the route follows the Suyeonggang Riverside Trail and Oncheoncheon before continuing to Gwangalli Beach. It also includes the Suyeonggang Human Bridge, whose completion ceremony was held on February 12, 2026. Warm-up stretching, experience booths, mini-games, a quiz show, photo zones, prize drawings, and the distribution of completion medals and souvenirs are also scheduled, offering opportunities to change the pace briefly before and after the long walk. What I find most appealing about this event is that rather than competing for speed, it connects the riverside and seaside at night through walking. Photos of the 2024 starting line published in a 2025 report show people gathered in a long line, making it easy to imagine the excited atmosphere before the start. From Centum City Station Exit 12 to the Suyeonggang Human Bridge

If this is your first visit, it is helpful to remember Exit 12 of Centum City Station on Busan Metro Line 2. Information for APEC Naru Park states that it is a 13-minute walk from this exit, while bus 139 takes 7 minutes on foot after getting off at the Busan Cinema Center stop. The Busan Cinema Center is across from the park, and because the Human Bridge connects the residential area of Suyeong-gu, APEC Naru Park, and the Busan Cinema Center for pedestrians, it is easy to add a stroll around Centum. If you drive, the APEC Naru Park parking lot is free for four hours, but the space is limited. Since the event address is 85 Suyeonggangbyeon-daero, the same road as the river cruise ticket facility, I felt more comfortable walking toward the riverside from Centum City Station.

Regarding language access, the 2026 event program did not separately mention on-site English interpretation or English signage. However, Visit Busan provides pages in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese and also offers information about the 1330 tourism helpline, making it useful when organizing directions and plans for visiting nearby attractions before the event. Participation fees were listed as KRW 38,000 for 8K, KRW 42,000 for 16K, KRW 49,000 for 24K, and KRW 59,000 for 42K. Regular tickets were sold from 11:00 on May 26, 2026, through 17:00 on August 14, with a limit of one ticket per payment. Urban Sports 2026 regular ticket information

Since the schedule involves walking from the night of August 29 until dawn on August 30, it is a good idea to bring stable walking shoes, water, and a light outer layer to wear when your sweat cools. The park lists accessible facilities, accessible parking, and accessible restrooms. Before participating, it is also advisable to keep your bag light according to the selected distance and walking pace.

16:00–07:00: Practical Points to Consider When Choosing the 42K

Although operating hours extend to 15 hours, the public information did not separately specify the actual starting times for each course or the busiest periods. If you want to see the warm-up and booth programs before starting, it is better to plan to arrive with more time than the 16:00 opening.

The registration deadline was listed as 17:00 on August 14. The newly added 8K, like the 42K, is a nighttime riverside walking event. If you are not used to walking long distances, I would recommend choosing the 8K or 16K first and preparing snacks and a portable charger for the middle of the route.

The organizer's FAQ states that a baggage storage area and changing rooms will operate at the meeting point, but cash, wallets, and other valuables, as well as large luggage such as suitcases and kickboards, cannot be stored. Since the 2026 storage hours and layout for each event venue were not separately provided, it would be better to keep valuables with you and leave large travel bags at your accommodation. APEC Naru Park is equipped with two restrooms and parking facilities. However, the locations of restrooms along the event course and the food stalls and menus were not separately included in the current program list. The Suyeonggang riverside path is normally used for jogging and walking, but at night it was much more helpful to make a habit of watching your footing and the signs before taking photos. From the 8K to Gwangalli Beach, for Travelers Who Love Busan at Night

This event suited foreign friends who want to slowly walk through the city at midnight and experience its texture, rather than quickly visiting Busan's attractions and moving on. The 8K and 16K provide options for first-time participants, while the 24K and 42K are better suited to people who want to make walking itself the focus of their trip. The fact that the Suyeonggang Human Bridge, Oncheoncheon, and Gwangalli Beach are all included in one route is also appealing to travelers who want to see Busan's river and sea together.

On the other hand, travelers who feel more comfortable knowing detailed operational information in advance, such as on-site English support, starting times for each course, and the food stall selection, may find it a little frustrating. Still, if you make a note in advance of Centum City Station Exit 12, bus 139, the distance options from 8K to 42K, and the operating period from August 29 to 30, you can greet Busan's night much more lightly at the starting line.
