最佳遊覽時間
Bu-an Byeonsanbando is best visited late in the afternoon. In particular, around sunset is the most recommended time, as it is ideal for enjoying the seaside scenery.
However, the Chaeseokgang area is accessible only at low tide, twice a day, so be sure to check the tide times before visiting. For example, around 4:00 PM it may be close to high tide and difficult to access, while a time around 5:00 PM, when the water has receded more, may be more suitable.
The best seasons are spring and autumn. The weather is relatively mild and comfortable for walking. Summer weekends and public holidays tend to be crowded, while weekdays are relatively less busy.
In short, late afternoons on weekdays in spring and autumn are the best times to visit.
建議遊覽時長
If you only tour the main highlights, about 1 hour is enough. If you include the Mashil-gil trail or a coastal walk, about 2 hours is usually appropriate. To also see nearby attractions such as Chaeseokgang and Jeokbyeokgang, it is more relaxed to set aside half a day to a full day, and some coastal sections involve ups and downs, so senior travelers should allow extra time.
交通指南
You cannot go directly to Byeonsanbando from Seoul or the metropolitan area by subway alone. The most practical way is to first take an express/intercity bus to Bu-an, then transfer to a local bus.
By Subway
There is no directly connected subway station. If departing from Seoul, take the subway to a station with the express bus terminal, then use a bus bound for Bu-an. For international travelers, the bus + local bus combination is the most convenient.
By Bus
First travel to Bu-an Intercity Bus Terminal. After that, you can use Bu-an rural buses to reach each tourist site in Byeonsanbando. Local buses depart from Bu-an City Bus Terminal, which is diagonally opposite Bu-an Intercity Bus Terminal.
The fare is 1,000 won for adults across the full route, or 950 won when using a transportation card. Since there are not many departures, checking the schedule is important. Based on the provided information, the first bus is at 12:20 and the last bus is at 17:10, with routes operating three times a day. Another guide shows buses departing Bu-an at 06:30, 08:20, 10:25, 13:20, 15:40, and 17:00, so be sure to check the latest local timetable before visiting.
For the Naebyeonsan direction, the destination address is around 179-8 Junggye-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, Bu-an-gun, Jeollabuk-do (Naebyeonsan Parking Lot in Byeonsanbando National Park). Some travelers also take a bus from Naesosa toward Gyeokpo.
On Foot
Long-distance walking access is not realistic. In general, you take a bus from Bu-an to the main stops or parking lots in Byeonsanbando, then walk only the final stretch. In national park areas, it is common to walk from the stop to the entrance, so please prepare comfortable shoes.
Because bus frequency is limited, missing one can mean a long wait. If your schedule is tight, a sightseeing taxi is also a good alternative.
拍照地點
- Chaeseokgang Sea Cave Photo Spot: A sea cave that appears as you descend along the Chaeseokgang coastal trail. If you stand inside the cave and point your camera toward the sea, you can capture a composition where the cave entrance looks like the shape of the Korean Peninsula. Access and photography are easiest during the low-tide period, and around sunset the reflection of the evening glow on the sea and on the puddles on the ground makes for excellent photos.
- Chaeseokgang Layered Cliff Coast: This is the representative rock cliff section of Chaeseokgang, where you photograph with the cliffs as a backdrop near the coast. If you shoot while looking diagonally toward the cliff side, the distinctive layered geological patterns stand out clearly. When the light is softer late in the afternoon, the texture of the rocks becomes more vivid.
- Mudflat and Sea Reflection Area: This is the wide mudflat and shallow-water area in front of Chaeseokgang. If you frame the shot low toward the horizon, it is ideal for capturing the sky and sunset reflections on the water. The best shooting time is from just after low tide to sunset.
夜景
At Bu-an Byeonsanbando, it is nice to enjoy the quiet coastal night scenery. After dinner, take a light walk around the Chaeseokgang area and feel the atmosphere of the night sea. The surroundings are relatively calm, and the lighting, sea, and shoreline create a tranquil landscape that is impressive.
Bu-an promotes a night-tourism atmosphere using the western coast’s scenic beauty and the coastline of Byeonsanbando National Park under the theme of “red sunset, blue sleep.” In some spaces, lighting effects bring the walking paths and photo spots to life, and around ponds or pavilions the reflected light can make the scenery feel even more charming.
The recommended time is from just after sunset until around 9:00–10:00 PM. This is when the lights are most visible, and it is still early enough to enjoy a walk comfortably. Special night events may vary by season, so before visiting it is a good idea to check the latest information from the Bu-an-gun tourism office or your accommodation front desk.
For international travelers, the coastal night paths may be somewhat dark, so it is practical to wear comfortable shoes and plan transportation together with a taxi or private car.
四季指南
Bu-an Byeonsanbando has the sea, mountains, temples, and wetlands together, so the atmosphere changes greatly with each season. If you have a short itinerary, it is best to plan your route according to the seasonal highlights.
Spring
In spring, the bright flower scenery is the biggest attraction. The Naesosa area and the natural scenery of Byeonsanbando show a soft and refreshing atmosphere, and when cherry blossoms are in bloom, driving and walking are especially enjoyable. Combining flower viewing with the cedar forest path and a temple visit makes for a comfortable one-day course.
Summer
In summer, the coastal scenery and wetland garden go well together. At Noulbit Garden, created on the mudflats of Julpoman, you can enjoy seasonal flowers and summer lotus blossoms, making it a pleasant place for a light walk. On hot days, a coastal drive, sea-viewing, and a short itinerary mixing indoor and outdoor activities are practical.
Autumn
Autumn is one of the best times to experience the beauty of Byeonsanbando. Naesosa is especially popular for its red maple leaves and serene temple atmosphere. At Noulbit Garden, cosmos flowers and pink muhly grasses add a strong seasonal feel and are great for photography. The cool weather makes it a good time for trekking, temple walks, and visiting coastal attractions together.
Winter
In winter, it is good to enjoy quiet and calm scenery. Naesosa offers a very peaceful atmosphere with its snow-covered temple and cedar forest, and Jeokbyeokgang also presents impressive scenery unique to the cold season. If combined with Gomso Saltworks, you can see the winter sea and local landscapes at once. Some places may operate winter night lighting or illumination, so please check the latest information before visiting.
Tips
- Weekends during flower and foliage seasons are crowded, so it is better to depart early in the morning.
- In winter, the sea breeze is strong, so prepare a windproof jacket and non-slip shoes.
- For photography, the best times are before and after sunset, especially along the coast and in the wetland garden.
- To see seasonal highlights, plan Naesosa, Jeokbyeokgang, the Gomso area, and Noulbit Garden together.
在地小撇步
