Gwangalli Beach is located at 219 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan Metropolitan City. It has a total area of 82,000㎡, a beach length of 1.4 km, and a width of 25–110 m. The key geographical feature is the gently curved crescent-shaped sandy beach formed by sediment flowing down from Geumnyeonsan Mountain.
Gwangan Bridge, which opened in 2003, stands directly in front of the beach. The bridge diverts traffic between Suyeong-gu and Haeundae-gu across the sea and connects the coastal scenery of Gwangalli, Millak Waterfront Park, and Igidae, creating the composition of Gwangalli’s night view seen today.

Swimming season from July 1 to August 31 and free beach access
Beach walks and views are possible regardless of the season, but the dates announced for the 2026 swimming season are July 1 to August 31. During this period, the operation of seasonal facilities such as safety management, showers, and changing rooms may vary, so it is advisable to check Suyeong-gu announcements again on the day of departure.
There is no admission fee for Gwangalli Beach itself. However, swimming hours during the beach’s operating period, restrictions during bad weather, and convenience-facility hours are not permanent information fixed in the same way year-round. Visitors should distinguish between the hours when they can enter the beach and the hours when swimming is permitted.

A 12-minute route from Gwangan Station Exit 3 to the beach
For subway travel, Gwangan Station on Busan Metro Line 2 is the main reference point. Visit Busan states that the beach is about a 12-minute walk from Gwangan Station Exit 3, while from the Gwangalli Beach bus stop, visitors can take buses 62, 83, or 83-1 and walk for about 5 minutes after getting off.
First-time visitors should keep in mind that the route from the subway station to the beach passes through commercial and residential areas. Gwangan Bridge comes into view only after reaching the beach, so at night, follow the pedestrian flow toward the beach and take care when crossing busy Gwanganhaebyeon-ro.

Seasonal differences in the Class 1 and Class 2 rates at Gwangalli Beach Public Parking Lot
Those arriving by car may first consider Gwangalli Beach Public Parking Lot. According to Suyeong-gu parking information, Class 1 rates apply throughout June–September and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from October through May of the following year. The rate is 500 won per 10 minutes, with a daily maximum of 15,000 won.
On weekdays from October through May of the following year, the lot is classified as Class 2, with a rate of 300 won per 10 minutes and a daily maximum of 8,000 won. Enforcement methods on Gwanganhaebyeon-ro may change during special periods such as the beach season and the fireworks festival. Since parking enforcement in the beach area is announced to continue until 2:00 a.m. the following day, roadside parking should not be treated as part of your itinerary.

Saturday’s Gwangalli M Drone Light Show and Gwangan Bridge’s layered night view
It is helpful to think of Gwangalli’s nighttime schedule as two separate elements: the illumination of Gwangan Bridge and the “Gwangalli M Drone Light Show.” The drone show takes place every Saturday in the Gwangalli Beach area, and whether it is held may change even on the day itself depending on weather and communications conditions.
According to the 2026 schedule, the drone show is generally presented at 20:00 and 22:00 from March to September, and at 19:00 and 21:00 from October to February. Special performances on specific dates may take place at different times, so Saturday visitors should check announcements from Suyeong-gu or the event’s official notice before deciding when to arrive at Gwangan Station.

Following the beach eastward leads toward Millak Waterfront Park. A round trip around Gwangalli alone is sufficient, but visitors who prefer walking by the water rather than spending time on the sand may want to include this direction, where the angle toward Gwangan Bridge changes.
Conversely, the perceived temperature on the sand and beach road can be high in the middle of summer, and public transportation and walkways may be crowded before and after the Saturday drone show. Visitors using strollers or wheelchairs will find it more practical to plan mainly around the beach promenade rather than the sand. No confirmed permanent information is available regarding dedicated rental services or foreign-language assistance throughout the beach area.

The Gwangalli area was not formed solely as a beach commercial district. Suyeong-gu has preserved Jwasuyeong Eobang Nori, based on the “eobang” culture of fishing communities, as part of the area’s cultural heritage. Performances incorporating the region’s intangible cultural heritage have also been held at the Gwangalli beach stage.
Because of this background, Gwangalli is a place where the sandy beach, bridge, and beach stage are understood together. Busan Metropolitan City states that an outdoor permanent stage has been installed on the sand and is used as a performance venue. If a performance or festival coincides with your travel date, allow for restrictions, noise, and parking congestion unlike an itinerary focused only on the beach scenery.
