Manripo Beach is best visited from late spring to early autumn, but if you want to enjoy the sea most comfortably, June through early September is especially ideal. The water is relatively shallow and the waves are generally calm, making it a good fit for family travelers.

Within the day, early morning or around sunset is recommended. The sunlight is less intense than at midday, and the beach feels more comfortable. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, morning or late afternoon is best.

Weekdays are the best choice. On weekends and during vacation periods, visitor numbers increase significantly and it can get crowded, especially around midday. If you want to enjoy it more leisurely, choose a weekday morning or late afternoon.

If you are only enjoying a beach walk and the sea view, 1 to 2 hours is enough at Manripo Beach. A typical visit including a cafe stop or meal is around 2 to 4 hours. If you also want to explore nearby seafood markets or a driving route around the Taean area, a half-day to full-day schedule is practical.

It is easiest to get to Manripo Beach by traveling through Taean rather than going directly from Seoul. For foreign travelers, it is convenient to use Taean Terminal as the reference point.

Subway

There is no subway that goes directly to Manripo Beach. First, take the Seoul subway to the departure point for express or intercity buses, then use a bus bound for Taean. From Seoul, it is common to travel to Express Bus Terminal Station or toward Central City Terminal. Since you may need to transfer within the terminal, it is a good idea to also check the station exit number with the on-site signs.

Bus

From Taean Terminal to Manripo Beach, it takes about 25 to 30 minutes by local bus.

Walking

After getting off at the Manripo Beach stop, you can walk to the beach. Follow the guide signs around the stop toward the beach. If you do not have much luggage, it is not a difficult distance.

Practical tip: Local buses may vary by region in terms of whether they accept cash or transit cards, so carrying small cash can be more convenient.

• Right end of the beach, entrance to Mutdakseom: Move to the far right end of Manripo Beach to find the starting point leading to Mutdakseom. If you shoot facing the sea and the pedestrian bridge, the road connected to the coast will be included. Just before and after sunset is the best time.
• Middle section of the oversea pedestrian bridge: Stand around the middle of the 180 m oversea pedestrian bridge leading to Mutdakseom and take your photo. Facing toward the beach brings the bridge over the sea and the coastline into one frame. Late afternoon to sunset offers soft light and the most beautiful photos.
• Entrance to the Mutdakseom forest trail: The beginning of the 155 m forest trail after crossing the pedestrian bridge is the key spot. If you shoot toward inside the forest trail, the atmosphere of the wooden path comes alive. Morning or around sunset is ideal.
• Autumn flower spot along the walking path: In autumn, silver grass, chrysanthemums, and other fall flowers bloom around the walking path and in the forest, making it great for photos. Try shooting from a low angle so that the flowers and the path are both visible. Morning or late afternoon provides soft natural light.

The biggest charm of Manripo Beach at night is the blend of sea views and lighting effects. In particular, climbing the Manripo Observation Tower gives you a panoramic view of the wide beach and the sea, and at night the constantly changing colored lighting makes the atmosphere even more spectacular.

At night, you can enjoy a laser show and scenic lighting, offering more to see than a simple beach walk. After visiting the observatory, we also recommend heading down to the shore and walking along the illuminated sea.

The recommended time is from just after sunset until around 9 p.m. When there is still a little light left in the sky, the sea scenery and lighting are both visible at their best, and once it becomes completely dark, the laser show and night lighting appear even clearer.

At night, the atmosphere is relatively romantic and refreshing, making it a good fit for couples, families, and travelers who want to take photos. However, the laser show and lighting operating hours may vary depending on site conditions, so it is best to confirm on the day of your visit.

Manripo Beach is a place where the atmosphere changes clearly with each season. It is even better when you enjoy the beach scenery together with the nearby Chollipo Arboretum.

Spring

Spring is a good time for walking as flowers begin to bloom. After enjoying spring flowers and fresh gardens at the nearby Chollipo Arboretum, it is pleasant to stroll leisurely along the pine forest and sandy beach of Manripo Beach. During the cherry blossom season, the surrounding roads and garden scenery are especially beautiful.

Summer

Summer is the most popular season at Manripo Beach. Thanks to the wide sandy beach about 3 km long, relatively gentle water, and cool pine forest, it is suitable for swimming and beach relaxation. Swimming, beach walks, and sunset viewing are the main activities, and themed trails such as Hydrangea Trail and Solbaram Trail are also worth exploring.

Autumn

In autumn, the areas around the beach and the arboretum turn colorful with fall foliage, creating a calm and beautiful landscape. It is less crowded than in summer, making it good for walks and photography, and the cool weather also makes it comfortable to walk along the shore for a long time.

Winter

In winter, it is nice to enjoy the quiet sea scenery. The crisp air unique to the cold season and the peaceful beach are appealing, and if there are winter lighting events operated at nearby gardens or tourist sites, it is worth visiting them as well. The wind can be strong, so prepare warm clothing.

Travel Tips

The beach, Chollipo Arboretum, Chollipo Beach, and Baengnippo Beach are close to each other and are good to visit together. During the summer peak season, there are many visitors, so an early visit is convenient.
