What makes the park at 580-3 Daepyeong-dong different

Supteul Neighborhood Park is located at 580-3, Daepyeong-dong, Sejong Special Self-Governing City. The Korea Tourism Organization introduces it as a park in Daepyeong-dong, Sejong City, and lists walking trails, a picnic zone, a barbecue zone, and a soccer field as its main facilities.

Admission itself is listed as free, but facility usage fees are separate. The park has water sinks and restrooms, providing basic amenities for barbecue and picnic users.

Distinguish between the 11:00–20:00 daily schedule and the always-open listing

Sejong City’s official newsletter listed Supteul Neighborhood Park’s operating hours as 11:00–20:00 daily as of September 2024. In contrast, another tourism information page lists the hours as “always open,” so access for walking and operating hours for reserved facilities may differ.

The park is listed as open year-round without regular closing days. Therefore, walking itineraries around the park do not need to account for a specific closure day, but users of the picnic zone, barbecue zone, and soccer field should plan according to the date and available operating hours shown in Sejong City’s integrated reservation system.

The 1,000 won, 2,000 won, and 5,000 won charges after free admission

According to Sejong City information from September 2024, admission to the park is free. Tourism information from November 2025 states that facility usage fees are separate, and the same page lists 1,000 won for the picnic zone, 2,000 won for the barbecue zone, and 5,000 won for the soccer field.

However, the minutes of a Sejong City Council meeting on June 9, 2025, mention a barbecue area usage fee of 8,600 won, and also record that the fees changed in 2025. Therefore, 1,000 won, 2,000 won, and 5,000 won are facility-specific amounts shown on that tourism page, not park admission fees; the latest amount displayed on the reservation screen takes precedence.

The picnic and barbecue zones are not places to use immediately just because you see an empty spot

The picnic zone, barbecue zone, and soccer field can be used after making an advance reservation. Sejong City explains that the picnic and barbecue areas can be booked through its integrated reservation system (onestop.sejong.go.kr), while the tourism information page provides https://www.maketicket.co.kr/ as the online reservation site.

The Sejong City Council minutes record questions and answers stating that same-day reservations and cancellations are possible for the barbecue area. Cooking is not allowed in the picnic zone, and firewood is prohibited in the barbecue zone; charcoal must be used. Visitors must take their trash with them after use, so international visitors should prepare both charcoal and a plan for disposing of their waste.

Accessing the Geumgang riverside bike path from the south side of Eungdari Bridge

No subway station or bus route numbers and stop names have been confirmed. Instead, Sejong City explains that Supteul Neighborhood Park can be reached from the south side of Eungdari Bridge by following the bike path southwest. A dedicated bicycle road runs in a straight line along the Geumgang River near the park.

The bicycle route is introduced as starting at Saesumteul Neighborhood Park, passing along the Geumgang riverside road, and arriving at Supteul Neighborhood Park. With an Eungpass, users can ride Eoulling free of charge for up to 90 minutes per trip; returning it before 90 minutes and renting it again allows repeated free use.

Accessibility traces left by the Yongsucheon embankment road in 2021

A report dated March 21, 2021, introduced the Yongsucheon embankment road, the park access road, as a 1,410-meter-long two-way single-lane road. At the time, most vehicles had difficulty passing one another, and a plan was proposed to widen the 500-meter section from Seongdeokgyo Bridge in Geumnam-myeon to the Yongpo drainage pumping station from 3.5 meters to 6.5 meters, creating a two-way, two-lane road.

Under the same plan, the new-town section from the Yongpo drainage facility to the park was 910 meters long, and the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) was to expand it. The access-road improvement budget was reported as 200 million won. This road-improvement record shows the background behind the park’s reputation as a space accessed via the Geumgang riverside and outer roads rather than as a pedestrian tourist destination in the center of the new town.

Travel to the area around the park to see the autumn cosmos field

Near Supteul Neighborhood Park is a cosmos field created and managed directly by the Geumnam-myeon Residents’ Autonomy Council. As of September 2024, Sejong City’s official newsletter introduced this cosmos field as an attraction near the destination.

The Korea Tourism Organization’s tourism information describes the multicolored cosmos flowers as an autumn attraction. Rather than assuming that the cosmos field is a facility inside the park, consider it a space “near the park,” and include it in an itinerary that passes through Saesumteul Neighborhood Park and the Geumgang riverside bike path.

Wheelchair and stroller users should check the entrance and restroom information first

Barrier-free information from the Korea Tourism Organization states that there is a level difference at the main entrance. Access by subway and low-floor bus is unavailable, and wheelchair and stroller rentals are not offered. It is a more practical destination for visitors planning to arrive by car or bicycle than for those intending to travel solely by public transportation.

There are also reportedly no accessible restrooms, accessible elevators, or designated accessible parking spaces. Although regular restrooms and water sinks are available, wheelchair users and visitors with strollers should consider the level difference at the main entrance and the restroom conditions, and review traveling with assistance or visiting another destination as well.

The facility contact is listed as Sejong City’s Garden City Division at 044-300-6861, while another tourism information page also gives 044-120. The official reservation URL is https://onestop.sejong.go.kr.
