"Late Jo Min-ki's Wife" Kim Sun-jin Appears on TV After 7 Years in Tears "Reminiscing the Past, Running a Shop"
Kim Sun-jin, the makeup artist wife of the late actor Jo Min-ki (CEO of Chloe Beauty Shop), stood in front of the camera after a long time.
Kim Sun-jin recently appeared as a participant on Coupang Play's 'Just Makeup'. 'Just Makeup' is a large-scale makeup survival show where K-beauty's leading makeup artists fiercely compete with their unique styles, hosted by singer Lee Hyo-ri and judged by makeup artist Jung Saem-mool, Amorepacific makeup master Lee Jin-su, and others.
She presented her unique makeup with a 'strong unnie' (older sister) concept and was subsequently judged by beauty YouTubers Isa Bae and Lee Jin-su. Kim Sun-jin had to explain her makeup to the two, but she shed tears while trying to say "today." Isa Bae also teared up, comforting Kim Sun-jin. It turned out that the two were acquainted.
Isa Bae said in an interview, "She was the CEO when I first joined the shop, so standing there brought back countless emotions," and Kim Sun-jin also stated, "We probably remembered old times, and I think we will continue to remember them. I wonder if these tears are due to the memories we share."
Kim Sun-jin expressed her ambition to the two judges, saying, "I think I'm the oldest here, and I want to be a strong unnie. So I chose a makeup look with a stronger impression. I haven't really done makeup, mostly just managed the shop. My confidence had dropped, so I practiced a lot. They say things learned by heart are never forgotten. What's embedded will come out. I wanted to show the image of a strong woman," but unfortunately, the result was elimination.
Meanwhile, Kim Sun-jin is a first-generation makeup artist who has worked on makeup for star actors such as Shim Eun-ha, Park Joong-hoon, Choi Jin-sil, and Shim Hye-jin. She married Jo Min-ki in 1992 and had one son and one daughter. The two also appeared on entertainment shows together, showcasing their couple chemistry.
Jo Min-ki passed away in 2018 ahead of a police summons regarding sexual harassment allegations. His last work was SBS 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' in 2016.
